FIRST PRIZE REN SHAPE CONTEST
Capital Pattern and Model, Inc. won the First Prize for the Most Intricate Category in the Ren Shape contest. Entered was the Ren Shape® 450 foundry pattern. The Ren Shape 450 pattern is used for a negative iron foundry mold in which aluminum castings for a heater will be poured. Milled on a Fadal machining center from computer-generated data, the intricate pattern contains tapered slots designed to form fins on the final aluminum parts. The Ren Shape boards, purchased from Ciba distributor White Pine Lumber, Romeoville, Illinois, provided Capital Pattern and Model, Inc. with the required accuracy and outstanding edge definition needed on the detailed part.
